Description:

For Sale is a beautiful 19th century yacht cannon on a mahogany carriage. The cannon was manufactured by the Strong Firearms Company (SFC) of New Haven, Connecticut and was retailed by Chas. C. Hutchinson, 152 State Street, Boston. From our research it is an 18 inch barrel length designed for an 8 gauge shell and was suitable for a 25-40 foot yacht (according to the SFC catalogue of 1885). The cannon appears be untouched and in very good condition with three of its original rubber tires. The barrel is uncleaned with a lovely dark patination.
